  • National Mall Hosts EPA P3 Vompetition for Earth Day Weekend

    At the Washington, D.C. National Mall over the Earth Day weekend from April 21st through April 23rd, the 8th Annual National Sustainable Design Expo was held and co-sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The Agency no doubt used poster printing and flyer printing to make the public aware of the event so as to support the many other activities across the nation celebrating Earth Day.

  • The Howard Theatre reopens its doors to the D.C. community

    The Howard Theatre, well-known as a theatre for Black audiences, recently re-opened this month in a special dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday April 9th after being closed for over 30 years. The Theatre no doubt used flyer printing and poster printing to make the Washington, D.C. community aware of this event and the revival of its regular performances.

  • Rally in nations capital supports funding for transportation

    At the second annual Rally for Roads held in Washington, District of Columbia, members of the transportation construction industry and its suppliers were joined by leading bi-partisan members of Congress on Tuesday, March 20 in support of the passage of a transportation bill that will last for several years and be fully funded by the federal government.

  • Cherry trees to reach peak early in Washington, D.C.

    Due to warm temperatures in the Washington, D.C. area, the National Park Service forecasted last week that the landmark cherry trees that surround the Tidal Basin will begin to blossom today, March 18 and will peak starting Tuesday, March 20 and run through Friday, March 23. The Park Service and many travel and tourist-related agencies no doubt are using printing services to print flyers, brochures and updated posters to attract as many people as possible to the annual event.

    Brilliant Insurance Services, a commercial insurance brokerage firm that offers film insurance for independent film producers, recently announced it is now able to transact business in Washington, D.C. by means of its website MovieInsure.com. The firm will most likely be using printing services to make those in the film industry in the nations capital aware of this service so they can readily get the insurance they need to produce their films.

  • The nations capital leads the list in risk of cybercrime

    A new report by Symantec has disclosed that Washington, D.C. is number one in cities across the nation with the risk of cybercrime. The top five in the list is rounded out by San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta and Boston. The city is using printing services to print the report and other details that make it top in the list for cybercrime.

  • Virginia hotel joins nationwide group of hotels and resorts

    Destination Hotels and Resorts recently announced that the Lansdowne Resort, a 296-room resort situated on the bluffs of the Potomac River in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia areas, will be managed by them starting within the next few months. The company will be using printing services to print brochures describing the features of this hotel and flyers and posters regarding their organization and what this new management will mean for the hotel. Destination has a unique collection of hotels and resorts in the eastern region that include such well-known hotels as the Madison in Washington, D.C., Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, VT, and The Carolina Inn and Rizzo Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY.

  • Hotel in Dupont Circle opens new restaurant

    The Courtyard Marriott in Washington, D.C. at Dupont Circle has recently opened a new restaurant, The Bistro, which has an innovative approach to its menu and is bringing a new meaning to dining in a hotel. The Courtyard Marriott is using printing services to print out new flyers and update its brochures to inform the public about its new restaurant and attract visitors, even those who are staying at the hotel.

  • Policy Center launched by the Wests aims to save billions in health care costs

    The West Health Policy Center was opened on January 23 in Washington, D.C. by Gary and Mary West with the objective to save $100 billion in health care costs around the country within the next 10 years. The Wests are using printing services to print brochures and other information about their center to attract researchers and other health care professionals to work at and contribute to the efforts of the Policy Center.

  • JFK Center for the performing arts to host Vienna Philharmonic in February

    The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. will be the host for a special concert by the Vienna Philharmonic on February 29. The concert will be conducted by Lorin Maazel and is made possible by contributions from the Washington Performing Arts Society. The concert will include premier works by Mozart and Strauss. Both the Society and Performing Arts Center are using printing services to print flyers and posters about this special concert that is coming to this country to attract the local community as well as visitors during that time to attend the concert.
